Week 6, Day 1: Yesterday I drew a line in the sand and I'm glad to report positive results thus far. I think I may actually complete a few of my 6 challenges :)
1) Lose 10 pounds: Yesterday I ate the way I should have been eating for the last 5 weeks and I was down to 159 again. Let's hope I can hold on to it this time!!! I ate lots of little meals consisting of fruits and veggies. For dinner I had 3/4 of a boneless skinless chicken breast, steamed veggies, 1/4 cup of pasta and a small salad. For dessert I had a fat free, low cal greek yogurt Popsicle and an apple. I drank lots of water :)
2) Diastasis Rehab: I did FOUR double splints, regular transverse contractions and 5 head lifts.
3) Exercise: No exercise, but I made an effort to go up and down the stairs on multiple trip rather than several smaller trips. I've also asked a neighbor if I can borrow their single jogger since I stupidly sold mine.
4) Ari Bedtime: Ari took an early bath with Lilah (Yes it was very cute), but we didn't make it upstairs for book reading until 8:58! I read 3 little books, but lights weren't out until 9:05. I'll do better tonight.
5) Lilah sleep though the night: Yesterday I swore I was going to let her cry it out, but I suppose I should have passed it by my husband first... Lilah woke at 1:50 and 'complained' loudly for about 25 minutes. It wasn't exactly a cry, but she was definitely looking for Mama and not happy about the lack of attention. By 2:15 Lawrence had enough of listening to her and went in to take care of her which made her go BALListic. She went from 'complaining' to 'bloody murder' in about 3 seconds. By 2:20 I had gotten a sippy cup and took her from the husband, while still being resolute in NOT nursing her. She eventually calmed down and drained the sippy cup. I put her back into her crib at 2:30 and she screamed for about 30 long seconds, then rolled over and went to sleep! Whew!! She slept until 6:30 this morning :)
6) Lilah weaning) Cold Turkey is working so far! I nursed her yesterday morning at 6:30am, but I'm writing this now at 11am and still have not nursed! So that's 28 1/2 hours :) I was mostly nervous about last night's wake-up, but I stuck to my guns and she accepted it..... I know it over and over again, but I'm still amazed at how consistency and unwavering intention really shapes our children's behaviors. I'm starting to think we can get our kids to do anything as long as we are consistent and firm.
