Done, Finito, The End. I'm tired and cranky and starting to even get resentful, so it's time for a major change to my approach towards Lilah's nursing and sleeping. Last night was another night of waking 3 times and wanting to nurse all night long. I never felt comfortable with the Crying It Out method, but I'm at my wits end and tonight will be the night. As of today, I am considering Lilah weaned and I will no longer be nursing her back to sleep at night......and she's just going to have to deal with it. She's a healthy 16 month old toddler and it's time she weaned and slept. Ze all.
and now for the dailies:
1) Lose 10 pounds - Back up to 161 this morning and the McDonald's yesterday didn't help :( I've been so tired the last few days that I've had absolutely no will power. A friend recently told me they lost 22 pounds doing an elimination diet. She was having Thyroid problems after speaking to a Naturopath, she eliminated all foods from her diet except leafy greens and lean meats, then started adding things back in. I think I'm doing this all wrong. I may just be delusional from sleep deprivation, but I'm thinking maybe I just need to eat leafy greens an lean meats too. harumph.
2) Diastasis Rehab: I did only 3 of my 10 yesterday :( 2 Double splinted, 1 regular, but 5 head lifts which I'm proud of.
3) Exercise - Nope. I basically sat on the couch all day because I was tired and grumpy.
4) Ari Bed - Ari skipped his nap and passed out around 7:45! Yippee!
5) Lilah Sleep though the night - Lilah was up at midnight, 3am, 5:30am and up for the day at 6am. I think I'm losing my mind. She's on day 4 of antibiotics so the ear pain should be gone, but I know she's also teething. Tonight, my plan of action will be Tylenol before bed and then let her put herself back to sleep.
6) Weaning - Lilah nursed yesterday at 4pm, and each of the times when she woke in the night - 12, 3 and 5:30. I know she's not getting anything, so why am I doing it?!?!? I think I'm done with the slow transitions..... time for cold turkey!
Go for it. You and your little one will be fine.
ReplyDeleteMaybe try some Calms Forte (Hyland's naturopathic avail at Fred Meyer) in the middle of the night if she is having a tough one. If you had your placenta encapsulated, a dropper of the 6c homeopathic would be good too since this is a time of transition. There are also flower essences that can help too.
Hugs and sweet dreams to you both.
I think maybe you should re-up for another 6 weeks with all new goals!!!! I'm not ready to lose your daily updates and I think this has been a great tool! I am very close to joining in with you, perhaps next week. you are doing great.
