Week 1, Day 4

Yesterday was a mixed bag.  Some good, but mostly room for improvement:

1) Lose 10 pounds - Great food day.  I had to eat extra to make my daily points and still came up short, but the scale didn't move.  A

2) Diastasis class - Did very well!  I did all my exercises through the day and really feel like I'm starting to get the hang of what movements I'm am and am not supposed to be making.  I already feel like my belly is getting smaller and my muscles are starting to heal although I know it's probably all in my head.  A!

3) Exercise - Another total failure :(  Somehow the day just ended up getting away from me and suddenly it was time to go to sleep.  F

4) Get Ari in bed and asleep by 9pm - Ari game down with a cold yesterday.  He was coughing and had a low grade fever by late afternoon.  We gave him some Tylenol and skipped the bath (new Dr's recommendation is now to NOT give kids a bath when they get a fever b/c it could give them a chill and make their fevers worse!).  I took him upstairs at 8:40 and turned the light off at 9:05 (we had to finish the book!), but my husband ended up crawling into bed with him until around 9:15.  That being said, he went to sleep almost immediately.  B+ for being mostly on time, but I guess when illness is involved, there are going to be some deviations.

5) Get Lilah to FINALLY sleep through the night - Last night was a worse disaster than the night before.  I don't know what was going on with her which made her basically up all night, but I really need to grow some backbone when it comes to this child.  The issue last night was the same issue it's been for 15 months.... that I'm worried there is something wrong, she's teething, she has a cold, she's constipated, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera :(  I need to get it through my head that Lilah is fine.  The night started great when she went to bed at 7:30 with no problem.  However, she woke up at 9:45 crying and wouldn't go back to sleep.... so I caved and nursed her.  Then she was up again at 12:30!  I did some "Cry & Console" for about an hour, but she still wasn't going back to sleep, so once again I caved and nursed her.  This time she slept for about 3 hours, but was up again at 4:30 when I caved again and nursed her back to sleep.  Unfortunately, this time I fell asleep in the chair with her and didn't get back to my own bed until after 5am.  F-  Tonight I need to stand my ground.  I'm going to reread my original sleep information from Suzanne Hanson and just start from the beginning all over again.

6) Wean Lilah - See above :(  Yesterday I nursed at 6am, 7:30am, 1:45pm, 7:30pm, 9:45pm, 1:30am & 4am, which comes to a total of 7!  Once again, I need to work on nursing more often during the day.  The weaning and sleeping through the night obviously go hand in hand, so hopefully day 5 will show some improvements.  D for taking a step backwards.

2 A's, 2 F's, a B & a D..... so basically I have a C average right now and need to work hard to improve my GPA.  Luckily, the final isn't for a few weeks :)
