Week 2, Day 2

July 4th was such a disaster for all my goals, that to even blog about it fills me with shame and disappointment..... so I'm just going to pretend it didn't exist :)

July 5th on the other hand, was GREAT!!!

1) Lose 10 pounds - ok, so once again, my diet did suck today and once again I saw the scale go up again. As of this morning, I'm actually 0.6 MORE pounds than when I started this a week ago.  I'm going to blame July 4th and hope it goes away.  I've also made the difficult decision to start trying to cut out some of my carbs.  Tonight we will have Turkey meatballs for dinner and instead of eating the spaghetti, I'm just going to have a double helping of steamed veggies.  I've also notice that I seem to do worse when I don't eat an actual meal, but instead just snack all day.  It's like all those little licks, bites and tastes add up to much more than what a meal would have been.  So to recap:  Less carbs, more meals.

2) Diastasis class - Knocked it out of the park :)  This is the one thing I've been able to continue doing well.  I've managed to do all my reps and continue to be careful with my movements.  The splint is starting to piss me off though.  I had it off for most of the morning and last night I actually slept w/o it for the first time which I know I'm not supposed to do, but I think I've been wrapping it too tight because it's starting to feel a little binding :(  I'm going to do better at keeping my splint on.

3) Exercise - Although it's not technically exercise, I actually worked up a sweat cleaning the 3 bathrooms yesterday.  I scrubbed the hell out of both tubs, vigorously cleaned the sinks and counters, and went crazy on the mirrors.  I'm going to count this as exercise :)

4) Get Ari in bed and asleep by 9pm - I had a meeting last night and when I got home at 9pm Ari was still sitting on couch and hadn't really eaten dinner.  But I had him fed, drinked and in bed by 9:30!  He didn't get out of bed once and went right to sleep :)  I'm going to consider this a victory even though it was later than 9pm because he recognized that once he was in bed it was time to go to sleep and he stayed in bed.... so there!

5) Get Lilah to FINALLY sleep through the night - Lilah slept until almost 3am!!  Which means I finally got 4 whole hours of uninterrupted sleep!!!!  The first part of the night was awesome, but now we have to work on the second part of the night.  After falling back to sleep right around 3am, she then woke up at 4:10 and 5am and wouldn't go back down.  I was very proud of myself for refusing to nurse her during this time period and I mostly just laid in bed while she complained.  On two occasions I went into her room and told her to go back to sleep, but the sun shines directly into her room in the morning and it's hard to tell her "it's night night time" when her whole room is bright and shiny.  I finally nursed her again at 5:30, but she wouldn't go back to sleep.  This afternoon I'll run over to Bed, Bath & Beyond to buy some black-out shades for her bedroom.  Hopefully this will help her sleep a little longer in the morning.

6) Wean Lilah - Ohhh Lilah..... this part is tough.  Yesterday I nursed at 7am, Noon, 5pm, 9pm, 3am & 5:30 which means we're still up to 6.  This part is really tough, but it's time to knock one of those nursings out and I'm going to choose the afternoon nap.  We'll see how this works :)
And there you go..... on to Week 2, Day 3....
