Before I start off, I just want to thank the people who have been telling me they've been checking-in on my progress :) This has been a difficult process and knowing people are reading this blog helps me by confirming you are out there & will give me a hard time if I quit or slack.... so thanks! Please feel free to make as many comments as you want i.e. "Naomi, stop whining so much and take action!" or "Will you stop making so many excuses and just take action" or even "You're an awesome superstar and I want to be you when I grow up." Thanks :)

I've been fighting a cold for about a week now and yesterday my cold won. For about 3 nights in a row I was up all night coughing, sneezing, & nose dripping in between nursings. Finally yesterday, the cough threw me down the stairs and I decided to take the day off - from everything. Being a sick momma while taking care of two little ones was enough of a challenge without attempting to accomplish anything at all. But here's where I stand for the last two days:
DAY 3: Pre-Sick Day
1) Lose 10 pounds - 160 even - YAY!!!! (down 3 pounds!)
2) Diastasis class - 5 of 5 - YAY
3) Exercise - Nope.
4) Get Ari in bed and asleep by 9pm - I asked Lawrence to put Ari to bed because speaking for too long made me start coughing which made reading a book kind of tough. Despite explaining the "Bedtime Routine" consists of two books then turning off the light, Lawrence ignored me and laid down in Ari's bed trying to get him to fall asleep by "modeling behavior" which consistently doesn't work (what's the definition of insanity again???). At 9:25, Lawrence deemed the bedtime attempt to have failed (again) and brought Ari into bed with us (because maybe if he sees both of us sleeping he'll fall asleep except that doesn't work either). So, I had to take Ari back to his own bed and shut the door with him crying for "DAAAADDDDDYYYY." But, lo and behold he was asleep in less than 5 minutes. It seems that regardless of how sick or crappy I feel, I will always need to be responsible for Ari's bedtime :(
5) Get Lilah to FINALLY sleep through the night - Lilah was only up 2x!!
6) Wean Lilah - Back up to 5x yesterday with 2 in the middle of the night. When I feel better I'll start working again.
DAY 4: Sick Day
1) Lose 10 pounds - I felt so crappy yesterday I didn't even weigh myself because my head was pounding too hard to look at the little numbers and I couldn't stand still on the scale anyway from all the intense coughing.
2) Diastasis class - Not a chance.
3) Exercise - My exercise yesterday was letting the kids jump up and down on top of me while I lay there incapacitated.
4) Get Ari in bed and asleep by 9pm - Weird thing last night..... if you remember, Ari had been sick with a cough too, but was feeling much better the last 2-3 days. However, despite not coughing all day, just at bedtime Ari had a coughing fit so terrible that he nearly threw up :( He was so upset that he was crying and almost started hyperventilating. We had given him cough suppressant just a few minutes before so after another 10 minutes it finally kicked in and he was able to fall asleep, but I felt bad for the little guy :(
5) Get Lilah to FINALLY sleep through the night - Lilah has started waking up earlier again and last night she woke up at 11:30 and despite feeling like crap I told her to go back to sleep instead taking the path of least resistance and nursing her. It took about 15 minutes, but she eventually did :) After that she slept until 3am, then woke again at 5am and was up for the day at 6:30. My lovely husband took her downstairs and let me sleep until 8 :)
6) Wean Lilah - I haven't the foggiest clue of how often I nursed Lilah yesterday.
